• Do not use anti-diarrhea medication while using Bactroban Ointment.

Common side effects of Bactroban Ointment include but are not limited to:

• Pain.
• Stinging.
• Burning.
• Itching.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of mupirocin:

• Any sign of a new skin infection.
• Severe stomach pain.
• Watery or bloody diarrhea. Do not use anti-diarrhea medication if this occurs.
• Unusual skin peeling or blistering.
• Severe irritation, itching or rash on the applied skin.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your face, lips or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Bactroban Ointment?

If you miss a dose of Bactroban Ointment, you should apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
