• Diprolene Ointment should be applied directly onto the skin.
• Apply a small amount of ointment directly onto the affected area and rub it in gently.
• Do not use this medication on the face, underarms, or groin unless directed by your doctor.
• Do not cover the affected area with bandages or similar.
• Rinse with water if you get this medication in your eyes or mouth.
• Do not apply Diprolene Ointment onto the skin that is irritated, dry, sunburned, or windburned. Do not use this medication on open wounds.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist:

• About your drug and other allergies
• If you take any other prescription or over-the-counter medications
• Your medical history particularly of adrenal gland problems, liver disease, diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, skin irritation, skin infections, or thinning skin
• If you are pregnant or planning pregnancy
• If you are breast-feeding. If this medication is applied to the chest, avoid areas that may come into contact with the baby’s mouth.

Common side effects of Diprolene Ointment include but are not limited to:

• Skin bruising
• A shiny appearance of the skin
• Skin blistering, burning, stinging, itching or redness
• Redness or crusting around hair follicles

• Severe skin irritation where applied
• Signs of skin infection including skin redness, swelling, warmth or oozing
• Thinning skin or increased body hair
• Slow wound healing
• Eye pain or vision changes including blurred vision, tunnel vision, or seeing halos around lights
• Dry mouth or a fruity breath odor
• Increased thirst or urination
• Depression, anxiety or irritation
• Muscle weakness or tiredness
• Weight gain or puffiness in the face
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat

What should I do if I miss a dose of Diprolene Ointment?

If you miss a dose of Diprolene Ointment, you should use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
