Albenza is a prescription medication that is used to treat worm infections including dog tapeworm and pork tapeworm. Albenza contains the anthelmintic drug albendazole and works by preventing newly hatched worms inside the body from growing or multiplying.

• Signs of increased skull pressure including nausea, vision problems, pain behind your eyes, severe headaches, ringing in the ears or dizziness.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your face, lips or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Albenza?

If you miss a dose of Albenza, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.

What else is Albenza called?

Albenza is also known as Zentel internationally. Zentel is the same brand name medication with a different name internationally and is not a generic alternative medication. Generic Albenza is called albendazole.
