Azor is a prescription medication that is used to treat high blood pressure. Azor is a combination medication that contains the calcium channel blocker drug amlodipine and the angiotensin II receptor antagonist olmesartan. Azor works by preventing blood vessels from narrowing and relaxing heart muscles.

Make sure to always read the patient information and instructions before using this medication. Always follow your doctor’s directions.

• Azor can be taken with or without food.
• Your blood pressure and kidney function may need to be checked regularly.
• Watch for signs of low blood pressure while taking this medication.
• Continue taking this medication even when you feel.

• If you take any other prescription or over-the-counter medications.

• Azor may affect reactions. Do not drive or operate machinery until you can do so safely.
• Do not take potassium supplements or salt substitutes while taking Azor.

Common side effects of Azor include but are not limited to:

• Dizziness.
• Flushing.
• Swelling.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of Azor:

• Pounding heartbeats or a fluttering in the chest.
• New or worsening chest pain.
• Severe or persistent diarrhea with weight loss.
• Feeling lightheaded or like you might pass out.
• Swelling in the hands or feet or rapid weight gain.
• Signs of a high potassium level including irregular heartbeat, chest pain, nausea, weakness, tingly feeling or loss of movement.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your face, lips or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Azor?

If you miss a dose of Azor, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.

What else is Azor called?

Azor is also known as Sevikar internationally. Sevikar is the same brand name medication with a different name internationally and is not a generic alternative medication. Generic Azor is called amlodipine/olmesartan.
