Common side effects of Cleocin include but are not limited to:

• Nausea or vomiting.
• Mild skin rash.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of clindamycin.

• Changes to bowel habits.
• A metallic taste in your mouth.
• Severe stomach pain.
• Bloody or watery diarrhea.
• Little or no urination.
• Signs of a serious drug reaction including fever, flu-like symptoms, severe weakness, muscle aches, jaundice, skin rash, swollen glands or unusual bruising.
• Signs of a severe skin reaction including fever, skin pain, sore throat, eye burning or a red or purple skin rash that causes peeling or blistering.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your face, lips or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Cleocin?

If you miss a dose of Cleocin, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.

What should I do if I have diarrhea while taking Cleocin?

If you have bloody or watery diarrhea while taking Cleocin, speak to your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrhea medications unless advised to by a doctor.
