Clobex Lotion is used to help relieve redness, itching, swelling, or other discomfort caused by certain skin conditions. This medicine is a corticosteroid. The lotion is used for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis.
This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription.
Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the Clobex Lotion exactly as directed.
Topical medicine is for use only on the skin. Rinse with water if this medicine gets in your eyes or mouth.
Do not use Clobex on the broken or infected skin. Also, avoid using this medicine in open wounds.
Wash your hands before and after using Clobex unless you are using the medicine to treat the skin on your hands.
Apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected skin and rub it in gently. Do not apply this medicine over a large skin area unless your doctor has told you to.
This medicine is for short-term use only (2 weeks or up to 4 weeks for scalp psoriasis). It would be best if you did not stop using Clobex suddenly.
Before using Clobex Lotion, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: poor blood circulation, diabetes, other skin conditions (such as rosacea, perioral dermatitis), and immune system problems.
If you are allergic to it, or any other steroids or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
Do not use it if there is an infection or sore in the area to be treated.
During pregnancy, this medication should be used when needed. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
Common side effects of Clobex Lotion include: Burning, stinging, itching, irritation, dryness, or redness that may occur when this medication is first applied to the skin. As your body adjusts to the medication, this should disappear in a few days. If these effects last or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Tell your doctor immediately if you have any serious side effects, including stretch marks, skin thinning/discoloration, excessive hair growth, acne, and small red bumps on the skin.
Rarely, this medication may be absorbed from the skin into the bloodstream. Tell your doctor immediately if the following side effects occur: unusual/extreme tiredness, weight loss, headache, swelling ankles/feet, increased thirst/urination, and vision problems. These side effects are more likely in children and people who use this medication for a long time or over large areas of the skin.
