Invokamet is a prescription medication that is used to improve blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes and to decrease the risk of type 2 diabetes patients from having heart failure, heart attack, kidney disease or stroke. Invokamet is a combination medication that contains canagliflozin and metformin.

• Invokamet should be taken with food.
• Swallow tablets whole without chewing or crushing.
• Watch out for signs of high or low blood sugar while taking this medication.

• Invokamet should not be used by anyone under the age of 18.

• Older adults may be more sensitive to the side effects of this medication.

Common side effects of Invokamet include but are not limited to:

• Headaches.
• Nausea or vomiting.
• Increased urination.
• Indigestion.
• Gas or stomach pain.
• Diarrhea.
• Weakness.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of Invokamet:

• Little or no urination.
• Feeling lightheaded or like you might pass out.
• New pain, sores, ulcers, tenderness or infections in the legs or feet.
• Signs of a bladder infection including back pain, pelvic pain or urination that is painful, burns or cloudy.
• Ketoacidosis symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, confusion, stomach pain, drowsiness or breathing problems.
• Signs of a high potassium level such as irregular heartbeat, muscle weakness, tingly feeling, chest pain, nausea or weakness.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your face, lips or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Invokamet?

If you miss a dose of Invokamet, you should take it with food as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
