Jentadueto is a prescription medication that is used to improve and control blood sugar levels in patients who have type 2 diabetes. Jentadueto is a combination medication that contains linagliptin and metformin. These medications work by regulating the amount of glucose and insulin that are produced by your body. Jentadueto should not be used to treat type 1 diabetes.

• Jentadueto should be taken with meals unless advised differently by your doctor.
• This medication is typically taken twice a day.
• You may have low or high blood sugar while taking this medication.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist:

• About your drug and other allergies
• If you take any other prescription or over-the-counter medications

• If you are over 65 and have not had your kidney function checked recently

• Jentadueto should not be taken by anyone younger than 18.
• Jentadueto may stimulate ovulation and increase the chance of unintended pregnancy. Speak to your doctor for more information.

Common side effects of Jentadueto include but are not limited to:

• Sinus pain
• Sore throat
• Stuffy nose
• Diarrhea

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of Jentadueto:

• Slow or irregular heart rate
• Breathing troubles
• Unusual muscle pain
• Feeling dizzy, weak or lightheaded
• Tiredness
• Vomiting
• Stomach pain
• Feeling cold
• Severe or persistent joint pain
• Severe skin reaction symptoms including fever, skin pain, sore throat, burning eyes or a red or purple skin rash that peels and blisters
• Heart failure symptoms including rapid weight gain, swelling in your legs or feet, or shortness of breath, even while lying down
• Signs of a severe autoimmune reaction including blisters, itching or a breakdown of the outer layer of the skin
• Pancreatitis symptoms including nausea, vomiting, fast heartbeats, loss of appetite or severe pain in your upper stomach that spreads to your back
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your face, lips or throat

What should I do if I miss a dose of Jentadueto?

If you miss a dose of Jentadueto, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
