Kombiglyze XR is a combination medication that contains metformin and saxagliptin. Kombiglyze XR works by decreasing the amount of glucose that your liver produces and regulating insulin levels in the body.

• Swallow this medication whole without chewing or crushing.

• Headaches
• Cold symptoms
• Nausea
• Diarrhea

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of Kombiglyze XR.

• Painful or burning urination
• Severe or ongoing joint pain
• Signs of a severe autoimmune reaction including blisters, itching or a breakdown of the outer layer of skin
• Heart failure symptoms including rapid weight gain, shortness of breath or swelling in the legs or feet
• Pancreatitis symptoms including severe pain in the upper stomach and spreads to the back, loss of appetite, fast heartbeats, nausea or vomiting
• Lactic acidosis symptoms including irregular heartbeat, breathing problems, coldness, unusual muscle pain, dizziness, tiredness, feeling weak, lightheadedness, stomach pain or vomiting
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your face, lips or throat

What should I do if I miss a dose of Kombiglyze XR?

If you miss a dose of Kombiglyze XR, you should take it as soon as you remember with food. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
