Norpace is a prescription medication that is used to treat certain types of serious abnormal heartbeat including ventricular tachycardia. Norpace contains the anti-arrhythmic drug disopyramide and is used to restore a normal and steady heart rate. Disopyramide works by blocking signals to the heart that can cause an irregular heartbeat.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of disopyramide.

• New or worsening abnormal heartbeat.
• Chest pain or pressure.
• Severe dizziness or passing out.
• Urination problems.
• Vision problems.
• Muscle weakness.
• Signs of heart failure including shortness of breath, unusual heartbeat, rapid weight gain, or new or worsening swelling in the arms or legs.
• Signs of a low blood sugar level including headaches, fast heartbeat, confusion, dizziness, weakness, tiredness, confusion, sweating, or hunger.
• Signs of torsades de pointes including fast or abnormal heartbeat or passing out.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Norpace?

If you miss a dose of Norpace, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
