Pred Mild is a prescription medication that is used to treat eye inflammation caused by a range of conditions including shingles, chemical burns, allergies, severe acne, eye injury, and others. Pred Mild contains the corticosteroid drug prednisone.

Make sure to always read the patient information and instructions before using this medication. Always follow your doctor’s directions.

• Before applying this medication wash your hands, remove contact lenses and shake the eye drops well.
• Tip your head backward and use your finger to pull down your lower eyelid. Hold the eyedropper directly above the eye, look away and squeeze out a single drop. Keep your eyes closed for 1-2 minutes.
• Do not touch the tip of the eye drops to prevent contamination.
• Speak to your doctor if your symptoms do not improve within two days.
• Do not stop taking this medication suddenly.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist:

• About your drug and other allergies.
• If you take any other prescription or over-the-counter medications.
• Your medical history particularly of eye infections, glaucoma or cataracts.
• If you are pregnant or planning pregnancy.

You should also know:

• This medication should not be used by anyone younger than 18.
• Do not breast-feed while taking Pred Mild.
• Do not share this medication with anyone else, even when you display the same symptoms.

Common side effects of Pred Mild include but are not limited to:

• Mild eye irritation, stinging, or burning.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of prednisone

• Pain in or behind the eye.
• Vision changes including blurred vision, tunnel vision, or seeing halos around lights.
• Small white or yellow patches on the surface of the eye.
• Signs of an eye infection including severe discomfort, swelling, redness, drainage, or crusting.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Pred Mild?

If you miss a dose of Pred Mild, you should use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
