• Nausea and vomiting.
• Rash.
• Double vision.
• Problems with balance or coordination.
• Feeling tired or drowsy.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of oxcarbazepine:

• Changes to mood or behavior including agitation, anxiety, depression, restlessness, hyperactivity, or thoughts of self-harm or suicide.
• Signs of a serious drug reaction including flu-like symptoms, fever, severe weakness, swollen glands, skin rash, muscle aches, unusual bruising, or jaundice.
• Signs of an electrolyte imbalance including increased seizures, lack of energy, muscle pain, nausea, confusion, tiredness, severe weakness, or feeling irritable.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Trileptal?

If you miss a dose of Trileptal, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.

What is the generic alternative to Trileptal?

Generic Trileptal is known as oxcarbazepine. Both Trileptal and Oxcarbazepine are available in strengths of 150mg, 300mg, or 600mg.
