Zymar Eye Drops treat bacterial conjunctivitis in adults and children one year of age and older. Zymar Eye Drops is in a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It works by killing the bacteria that cause infection.
Use Zymar Eye Drops exactly as directed by your doctor at all times. It is for ophthalmic topical use. The recommended usage period for Zymar Eye Drops is one week. Use up to eight drops per day in the infected eye(s) while awake on days 1 and 2. Use one drop four times daily when awake on days three to seven.
Applying Zymar Eye Drops:
Before using Zymar Eye Drops, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history. If you are allergic to it, quinolone antibiotics or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
After you apply Zymar Eye Drops, your vision may become temporarily blurred. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity requiring clear vision until you can safely perform such activities.
Blurred vision, watery eyes, headache, eye irritation/pain/dryness/redness, and bad taste in the mouth may occur as common side effects of Zymar Eye Drops.
Tell your doctor immediately if you have any serious side effects, including eye redness that doesn't go away and swelling of the eye or eyelid.
Using Zymar Eye Drops for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a new fungal eye infection. Do not use this medication for longer than prescribed. Contact your doctor if you notice new or worsening symptoms.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help immediately if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), dizziness, or trouble breathing.

What should you do if you miss a dose of Zymar Eye Drops?
Instill the missed dose of Zymar Eye Drops as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Refrain from instilling a double dose to make up for a missed one.
What side effects can cause Zymar Eye Drops?
The serious side effects may include persistent eye redness and swelling of the eye or eyelid. The common side effects of Zymar Eye Drops may include:
